Over the past few years I've put my fishing experience to use not only on the water but also in the workshop. To that end I've designed and
built several different fishing rods for inshore fishing, jigs of various sizes and shapes, and tied more flies than I care to count. We've also
taught classes on a wide range of fly tying, custom rod building,
Custom Fishing Rods
I've designed several 6-8 foot spinning, casting, and conventional style fishing rods. The design of each of the rods was based upon my
experience as a fisherman. As a guide I've seen my tackle used in ways that I didn't anticipate and I've got to say I've put my equipment
through it's paces.
Jigs and Trolling Lures
I've been making my own jigs for over 10 years. I started because I wanted the very best hook built into the jig and I wanted specific head
designs to easily pull through the grass or drop deep to catch fish in the depths.
Hand Tied Flies
I started tying flies when I was in high school and I haven't stopped. I've tied commercially a few time over the past 20 years but now I pretty
much tie only for myself and my charter clients. I do offer my flies for sale but only on a small scale; no more tying 300 black cockroaches for
five Keys fly fishing shops.
Classes and Seminars
We teach the classes below throughout Fort Myers, Sanibel Island, and Cape Coral. Classes out of the area can be arranged with a little prior
notice and planning.
