Pinfish Enterprises, LLC Pinfish Enterprises is a South West Florida company dedicated to providing professional charter guide services, building high quality fishing tackle, and teaching our angling customers how to be better fisherman and environmental stewards.
Charter Fishing Pinfish Charters specializes in flats, backcountry and near-inshore fly and light tackle fishing for Tarpon, Snook, Redfish and Trout. I'm based in Fort Myers, Florida and fish the waters of the Caloosahatche River, Boca Grande Pass, Matlacha Pass, Charlotte Harbor and Pine Island Sound. These waterways border Cape Coral, Fort Myers, Sanibel and Captiva islands. The water is abundant with bait (pinfish, sardines, herring, crabs and shrimp) which in turn attracts large numbers of game fish.
Captain Ed - over there ----> I have been fortunate enough to have with the opportunity to fish all over the world, for a wide variety of fish, using fly, spin, bait casting, and conventional tackle. I've fished for 8 inch wild Brook Trout in Massachusetts, Sailfish in West Africa, Tigerfish in Southern Africa, and Bonefish in the Florida Keys before settling down in Fort Myers to focus on Redfish, Snook and Tarpon. I've fished all over Florida during the past 20 years and believe that the Southwest Florida watersheds are some of the most productive fisheries on the planet.
Gear I'm a fishing rod builder so I've outfitted my boat with custom made rods that I designed and built for the fishing conditions we deal with in our area. Our spinning and bait casting rods are St. Croix, American Tackle, or Seeker blanks outfitted with Fuji or American Tackle line guides. We've matched the spinning rods to Diawa, Okuma, and Cabela's Baitfeeder reels. We primarily use 10lb Firewire braided line but also use Ande mono filament line when line stretch is desired (like when using deep swimming lures for Tarpon). Fly Rods were also built by me and are either St. Croix or American Tackle rods with REC Recoil Titanium guides. I've got 8, 10 and 12 weight rods outfitted with Scientific Anglers WF lines.
Boat I run a 2007 1802 Tournament Edition Action Craft rigged with a 115HP Yamaha engine. It's a great boat that tends to be much dryer than other manufactures boats of the same class. It's outfitted with a Powerpole, Garmin GPS/Depthfinder, Poling Platform, Push Pole, and an 87lb Motorguide trolling motor. I've stuffed as much tackle in it as I can so I've got a wide selection of artificial baits, plugs, flies, and hooks. My friends often joke about the fact that I've got a tacklebox dedicated to split-shot sinkers; I like to think I'm just organized.
